Vinson is a leading distributor of industrial process control, pressure protection, control systems, and services in the southwest region of the US including North, East, West Texas, Oklahoma, Western Arkansas, and New Mexico. 
This position will manage and optimize our SAP systems and any related integrations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing business requirements and translating them into SAP solutions by configuring/customizing the relevant SAP modules. This role will self-perform enhancements where possible or be the primary point of contact with contracted services when required. The role will involve working closely with business stakeholders to ensure the SAP solutions align with the company’s operational goals. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancements and new functionality to the existing SAP ECC environment, beginning with gathering of requirements through post-go-live support.
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of SAP modules and a proven track record in providing technical/functional support. This role requires a versatile professional with the ability to collaborate across teams, address business challenges, and enhance system functionality.
  • SAP Support: Provide support for SAP modules, troubleshoot issues, and resolve user errors.
    • Day-to Day production support as well as new enhancements and improvements, including primary point of contact for contracted resources.
    • Life-Cycle support includes implementations, blueprinting, system configuration, testing, go-live, and post-go-live support.
    • Project, Testing and Validation.  Provide Project support as required during implementations, upgrades, and rollouts. Develop and participate in test plans to ensure that SAP solutions meet business and functional requirements.
  • Business Process Analysis: Collaborate with business users to understand their processes, gather detailed requirements, and identify system gaps in the current SAP setup.
  • SAP Configuration & Optimization: Customize and configure SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, PP) to meet business needs, ensuring alignment with SAP best practices.  Identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements to streamline processes.
  • Solution Design: Develop functional specifications and propose innovative SAP solutions to streamline business processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Project Management: Overseeing the implementation of SAP projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and on time.
  • Documentation: Where not available, create comprehensive documentation, including functional designs, test scripts, process flows, and end-user training materials.
  • Integration & Collaboration: Work with technical teams to integrate SAP modules with other enterprise systems (e.g., Salesforce, custom/legacy applications). Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Data Migration: Managing the migration of data from legacy systems to SAP.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and optimizing the use of SAP systems.
  • Training & Documentation: Provide training and support to end users and key stakeholders, ensuring successful adoption of SAP systems.
    • Develop training materials and provide training sessions for end-users.
Education, Skills, and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in SAP Functional or Developer.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in at least one or more SAP Modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, Etc.)
  • Experience in SAP implementations from requirements gathering to post-go-live support.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Hands-on expertise in SAP configuration and customization.
  • Knowledge of ABAP programming, or SAP Basis.
  • Knowledge of SAP best practices and how to apply them in business processes.
  • Knowledge of OData Services and RestAPIs
  • Familiarity with integration points between different SAP modules.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Adaptability to dynamic business needs and technological advancements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • SAP Certification in one or more modules preferred
  • Experience with SAP ECC6 or S/4HANA preferred
  • Experience working in Agile project environments preferred
 
Physical and Mental:

  • Ability to work in a shop/warehouse environment as necessary depending on work
