Vinson is a leading distributor of industrial process control, pressure protection, control systems, and services in the southwest region of the US including North, East, West Texas, Oklahoma, Western Arkansas, and New Mexico. 
 
This position is for the role of Business Development Manager responsible for focusing on sales of Vinson’s Isolation Valve and Actuation portfolio of products for the West Texas market segment that includes, but is not limited to, all Oil & Gas including Upstream, Midstream and Refining and the OEMs that serve those markets, EPC firms, Power Generation, Food & Beverage, Semiconductor, General Industrial, HVAC/Central Utilities/Mission Critical, Mechanical and Temperature Control Contractors and all other industrial production facilities such as fertilizers, tire manufacturing, cement production, chemicals, plastics, etc. This position will require widespread travel within the Permian Basin client sites including possible overnight stays, and extended workdays.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Market and profitably sell Vinson’s products and services to existing and potential customers.
  • Be recognized as an expert in the field of Isolation Valve and Actuation products and applications
  • Have a thorough understanding of the target market(s) in West Texas and the requirements(s) to make Vinson the dominant participant.
  • Assist customers in developing specifications for Vinson products matching their capital project and MRO requirements
  • Work seamlessly with Inside Sales Engineers and Principal Manufacturers to provide technically and commercially sound responses to all customer requests for quote (RFQs). 
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape on a local, state and national level   
  • Approach sales on a consultative level determining customer needs through open dialogue and high-level understanding of their business needs and goals. 
  • Strategic development of key accounts/core accounts and maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions while maximizing financial opportunities.
  • Work with management to develop and track growth strategies and initiatives. 
  • Identify, create, and maintain a funnel of new business opportunities
  • Ensure business growth and product initiative targets are being met while reporting metrics to management.

  • Operate with an unquestioned level of integrity and customer service within a culture of continuous improvement.

Education, Skills and/or Experience:

  •  4 Year Degree Required from an accredited university
  •  Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales or Sales Management of Isolation Valves & Actuation – preferably in West Texas.  General knowledge of control valves, pressure management devices and other components of a flow control loop and overall process control system considered a plus. 
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive without daily direction from supervisor
  • Have an entrepreneurial approach and understanding of business strategies.
  • Ability to recognize and capitalize on potential business opportunities
  • Exposed to multiple aspects of the company and hold a thorough understanding of industry targets and how to deliver team collaboration. 
  • Ability to take initiative and make independent judgements in pressure situations.
  • Communicate well internally and externally with a high level of customer service
  • General competency with computers and specific experience with MS Excel and MS Word are required. 
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
