Vinson is a leading distributor of industrial process control, pressure protection, control systems, and services in the southwest region of the US including North, East, West Texas, Oklahoma, Western Arkansas, and New Mexico. 
 
This position is for the role of Business Development Manager responsible for supporting new business identification of products and services in the industries Vinson serves, including, but not limited to, Oil & Gas, Petrochem, Refining, and Power.  Specific areas of interest include incorporating the following product groupings in solutions based selling opportunities: regulators, relief valves, and tank protection equipment. This position will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction while assisting Vinson Process Controls’ growth in the Pressure Management business for both product sales and service within the specified territory. This position will entail independent and collaborative sales within a team, strategic goal setting, development of key accounts, as well as maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions while maximizing financial opportunities.  This position involves a high degree of customer interaction, and is deeply embedded in Vinson’s sales process; consequently, this position requires excellent people skills, strong communication effectiveness, self-motivated, and a high level of professionalism.

  • Be a leader in regard to Safety, Quality, and Customer Service
  • Be recognized as a technical expert in the field of Safety and Pressure Relief Valves
  • Communicate well internally and externally with a high level of customer service
  • Have a thorough understanding of the Safety and Pressure Relief Valve industry, including target markets and requirements to serve
  • Have an entrepreneurial approach and understanding of business strategies.
  • Assist in prioritizing capital investments including expected ROI.
  • Work with internal team to develop and track growth strategies.
  • Mentoring and providing guidance to new and experienced sales team members, engineers, and technicians to meet customer’s needs.
  • Strategically identify, create, and maintain a funnel of new business opportunities
  • Ensure business growth and product initiative targets (revenue, margins, etc.) are being met
  • Must know where and who to obtain manufacturers’ information from other than those represented by Vinson
  • Facilitate business meetings and presentations between customers and manufacturers.
  • Present new products and services while enhancing existing customer relationships.
  • Actively participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and professional associations to stay updated on market trends and build relationships with potential partners
  • Aptitude to accurately forecast sales performance against targets
  • Comfortable managing and analyzing opportunities within a CRM platform

Education, Skills and/or Experience:

·         4 Year Degree Requirement

·         Prior experience with the sales and/or operations of Pressure Relief Valves is preferred.

·         Legally authorized to work in the United States

·         Self-motivated and able to thrive without daily direction from supervisor

·         Ability to recognize and capitalize on potential business opportunities (Entrepreneurial and Opportunistic)

·         Capable of developing and delivering professional presentations for technical training and business reviews

·         Ability to thrive in high pressure situations

·         Good organizational skills and willingness to complete required reports and forecasts

·         Excellent Communication and People skills

·         General competency with computers and specific experience with Microsoft Office is required. 

·         Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

 

Physical and Mental:

·         Ability to stand/walk for an entire workday.

·         Ability to climb multiple ladders and stairways throughout a workday.

·         Not have a fear of heights

·         Ability to travel via air and/or ground transportation as needed
·         Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment if requested by a customer or required by safety policies
