Vinson Process Controls Company, L.P., a leading distributor of industrial process control, pressure protection, control systems, and services in the southwest region of the US including North, East, and West Texas, Oklahoma, Western Arkansas, and New Mexico. 
 
This position is for the role of Valve Services Supervisor responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Vinson’s valve service business.  This position will require a high degree of operations management, oversight, focus on continuous improvement and overall ownership. This position requires excellent people skills, strong communication effectiveness. Vinson Valve Technicians and the PRV Services Lead will report to the Valve Services Supervisor.
 
The Valve Services Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction while assisting Vinson Process Controls growth in the Pressure Relief Valve and general valve/actuator repair business. This position will entail developing repair processes and procedures, training others on repairs as well as ensuring proper documentation as required by Vinson’s procedures as well as the National Board, ASME, and other applicable authorities. 
 
This position will also assist in prioritizing capital investments while targeting the quickest return on investment possible.  This position will require a high degree of daily operation management, oversight, focus on continuous improvement and overall ownership. This position requires excellent people skills, strong communication effectiveness. 
This position could require travel to client sites including overnight stays, and extended workdays.

  • Be a leader in regards to Safety, Quality, and Customer Service
  • Lead shop and field assignments as required
  • Responsible for the ongoing surveillance of Vinson’s VR & UV manuals
  • Be an expert in the field of Operation Management and technician development
  • Fill in other roles as needed, such as Outage Coordinator
  • Complete all tasks and responsibilities as outlined in in Vinson’s VR & UV manuals.
  • Thorough understanding of ASME & National Board Code and requirements.
  • Mentor, Coach and develop valve technicians through performance reviews and daily performance management
  • Monitor technician repair reports ensuring they meet Vinson’s standards and coach improvement where needed.
  • Manage technician schedule
  • Focus on ROI as it pertains to requests for future investments and headcount
  • Ensure processes and procedures are adhered to and investigations completed and documented as expected.
  • Recognizes when improvements are needed and takes action
  • Ensure Vinson training programs are adhered to and documented
  • Have a thorough understanding of the Safety and Pressure Relief Valve industry, including target markets and requirements to serve
  • Keep current with applicable codes and standards (ASME, NBIC, API, PSM)
  • Communicate well internally and externally with a high level of customer service
  • Provide oversight on quoting and tasks performed by Service Administration Team.
  • Monitor, track, and ensure adherence to Assembly and Repair Schedules

Education, Skills and/or Experience:

·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Valve Repair business

·         Minimum of 5 years management experience

·         Self-motivated and able to thrive without daily direction from supervisor

·         Ability to thrive in high pressure situations

·         Ability to recognize and capitalize on potential business opportunities (Entrepreneurial and Opportunistic)

·         Good organizational skills and willingness to complete required reports

·         Excellent Communication and People skills

·         General competency with computers and specific experience with MS Excel and MS Word are required. 

·         Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

·         Legally authorized to work in the United States

 

Physical and Mental:

·         Ability to stand/walk for an entire workday.

·         Ability to climb multiple ladders and stairways throughout a workday.

·         Not have a fear of heights

·         Ability to travel via air and/or ground transportation as needed

·         Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
·         Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment if requested by customer or required by safety policies
