Vinson is a leading distributor of industrial process control, pressure protection, control systems, and services in the southwest region of the US including North, East, West Texas, Oklahoma, Western Arkansas, and New Mexico. 
 
An account management position primarily focused on Emerson’s Energy and Transportation Solutions (ETS) and Vinson’s Digital Transformation (DX) products, services, and solutions portfolio, serving customers within corporate headquarters, end user sites, and third parties involved with accounts in West Texas, Southeast New Mexico, and the Texas Panhandle.  This role requires a strong understanding of field automation technologies and RTU platforms specific to the ETS business unit, including applications in the upstream and midstream oil and gas segments.  Candidates should be comfortable engaging in technical discussions with engineers and operators regarding automation architecture, instrumentation, and integration strategies.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
 
  • Primary customer interface to discuss the company's products and services related to ETS and DX solutions.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for technical product support to customers.
  • Develops new accounts and helps to grow existing accounts.
  • Assess market opportunities and trends to remain focused toward the highest growth/revenue opportunities and/or strategic future business.
  • Develops and implements strategic activities/solution selling to meet company and customer business objectives.
  • Leads project pursuit activities utilizing processes and communications with other team members.
  • Assists customers in the development of automation requirements with associated benefits and risks.
  • Present new products and services while enhancing existing customer relationships.
  • Interfaces with Inside Sales individuals and trusted partners in the development and proposal creation of Vinson quotations.
  • Engages customers to finalize sales and ascertain that products are delivered on time and to customer requirements.
  • Prepare and communicate sales plans, advancements, and results to company stakeholders and vendor management.
  • Strategically identify, create, and maintain a funnel of new business opportunities.
  • Logs Opportunities, maintains account information, documents strategies, manages the Customer funnels inside of Salesforce as required.
  • Actively participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and professional associations to stay updated on market trends and build relationships with potential partners. 

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Education, Skills and/or Experience:

·         Four-year engineering degree from an accredited college/university OR demonstrated successful industry experience.

·         At least 3-5 years sales experience, including dealing with complex selling situations (such as corporate accounts, long sales cycles, multiple decision makers).

·         Excellent written and verbal communications skills and shall be comfortable with public speaking/presentations.

·         Familiarity of Emerson RTU platforms, with hands on experience as a plus, and an understanding of automation solutions specific to the ETS business unit.

·         Knowledge of the upstream oil and gas PLC automation, instrumentation, and fiscal measurement solutions. 

·         Ability to remain effective when dealing with multiple concurrent issues and/or with ambiguous situations.

·         Good computer skills and ability to adapt to new computer software requirements. 

·         Ability to work as a member of a team with other account managers during the development of business and with a cross-functional team (such as engineers and technicians) during the fulfillment of business.

 

Physical and Mental:

·         Ability to travel at least 75% of a workday in a car.

·         Able to lift and carry weight of at least 40 pounds (primarily demo equipment and customer equipment).

·         Shall be able to endure exposure to outdoor weather conditions for periods of several hours while on customer sites in West Texas.

·         Overnight travel of approximately 25% is estimated for this position.  Travel will be primarily by auto, but some air travel may be required.

·         Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) if requested by a customer of required by safety policies.
