Vinson Process Controls Company, L.P., a leading distributor of industrial process control equipment, pressure management, control systems, and services in the southwest region of the US including North, East, and West Texas, Oklahoma, Western Arkansas, and New Mexico.
 
This position is for the role of a Business Development Manager responsible for supporting new business identification for the Fisher product line and services associated with the control valve market. This position will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction while assisting Vinson Process Controls’ growth in the Flow Control business through innovation and product expertise. This position will entail independent and collaborative sales within a team, strategic goal setting, development of key accounts, as well as maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions while maximizing financial opportunities. This position involves a high degree of customer interaction, and is deeply imbedded in Vinson’s sales process; consequently, this position requires excellent people skills, effective communication, self-motivation, and a high level of professionalism.  
This position may require up to 50% travel to Vinson regional offices and client sites including overnight stays, and possible extended workdays.  Specific tasks required by this position include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Represent Vinson Process Controls and its principals to customers by providing technical product and commercial information for a diverse segment of industries including Oil and Gas, Refining, Power, Chemical, Pulp & Paper, and other Process Industries.
  • Recognized as a technical expert in the field of flow control valves and associated instrumentation. Lead and host paid and non-paid customer training events and seminars specific to products, applications, and industry topics.
  • Interface with factory personnel and vendors including participation in required cadences with the Emerson Flow Control business unit and presenting in annual business reviews.
  • Identify, create, and maintain a funnel of new business opportunities with the intent of converting these pursuits to successful engagements.
  • Identification of control valve and digital instrument competitive threats and develop tactical plans to differentiate the Vinson and Fisher product offering from the competition.
  • Ensure business growth and product initiative targets (revenue, margins, etc.) are being met. Assist in prioritizing capital investments including expected ROI for the Flow Control Business Unit.
  • Provide continued support to the Vinson Account Managers and other business development managers by making customer sales calls on a regular basis and driving concentrated sales initiatives.
  • Focused development and sustainment of business at Vinson’s most valuable and growable customers including maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions while maximizing financial opportunities.
  • Responsible for Flow Control training programs internal to Vinson Account Managers while working together with the Sales Application Engineering teams to maintain a high level of product and industry expertise. 
  • Maintain Account Management responsibility for specific accounts covering all products and interfacing appropriately with Vinson and Emerson area sales teams.
  • Assist other Vinson departments (production, accounting, purchasing, warehouse) with their requirements involving order management.
  • Support Sales Application Engineering with appointed duties to assist in focused selling activities and project pursuits.
  • Exemplify company culture while driving team synergies and alignment with Vinson Sales Manager’s objectives.
  • Responsible for utilizing and tracking customer activities and interactions within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Strategic development focused on continued market growth of the Fisher Fieldvue Digital Valve Controller platform and associated digital tools including valve reliability programs.
  • Work as a Team with Vinson’s Final Control Service, PSS, DX businesses to develop a customer valve health reliability strategy.
  • Create and expand Vinson’s control valve diagnostic programs leveraging Fisher resources and becoming a trusted advisor in the field of predictive and preventative maintenance.
  • Develop synergies between Fisher instrumentation devices and Vinson software platforms to expand opportunities.
  • Lead and spearhead new Fisher product launches (Digital Process Controller/DVC 7K/Fisher Electric Actuation) and assist with developing the go-to-market strategy within Vinson.
  • Become a customer resource for process control optimization using FIELDVUE DVC and device level troubleshooting

Education, Skills and/or Experience:
  • 4 Year Degree Required from an accredited university.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales or Sales Management with associated products
  • Clear background check, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
  • Key knowledge of Fisher control valve products.  For example: Can configure and calibrate a FIELDVUE DVC, trained or experienced with AMS ValveLink, understands ISA valve sizing parameters and valve selection, Understands Severe service applications (Cavitation, Noise, Outgassing, anti-surge, etc.), Experienced with electric and pneumatic actuation setup and commissioning, and understands the Fisher brand value.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive without daily direction from the supervisor.
  • Competency with computers and specific experience with Microsoft software programs.
  • Able to create and deliver professional presentations in front of a large audience for internal and external purposes.
  • Have an entrepreneurial approach and understanding of business strategies including sales focused processes.
  • Ability to recognize and capitalize on potential business opportunities (Opportunistic)
  • Exposed to multiple aspects of the company and hold a thorough understanding of industry targets and how to deliver team collaboration.
  • Ability to take initiative and make independent judgements in high pressure situations.
  • Capable of collaborating with remote located team members
