Design electrical schematics and layout drawings required for the assembly, deployment, and documentation of process control equipment system applications. The drawings will depict the electrical circuitry and the physical layout of electrical enclosures and mechanical subsystems, based on input/design specifications from in-house and external Engineers.
 
In addition to the above primary responsibility, this role requires involvement in the overall lifecycle of custom enclosure solutions from design concept, proposal, specification, assembly, testing, and commissioning.  Activities related to sales, production planning, and project/order management are anticipated.
 
 
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical Version
  • Good working knowledge of electrical codes/standards, such as UL 508A and NEC
  • Ability to provide cost estimates and equipment specifications/sourcing for custom requirements
  • Ability to read existing electrical and layout drawings and convert to our format
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to compare actual build to design drawings through visual comparison
  • Experience with low-voltage enclosure designs (<480V), including spacing and safety considerations for workers involved in the deployment, support and troubleshooting the enclosures
  • Work with production planning, operations, assembly, and QC to work through issues and design improvements
  • Familiarity with “in plant” electrical documentation such as one-lines, instrument loop sheets, and cable schedules
  • General PC skills and experienced working with the following software:
    • Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access
    • Microsoft Visio and Project
SAP Enterprise Software

Education, Skills and/or Experience:

·         Technical Associates degree with at least 5 years work experience in this field

·         High level of PC and software skills

Physical and Mental:

·         Must be a highly motivated, self-starter that can be effective in an office or a solo environment

·         Must have the ability to meet deadlines and shifts and changing demands in work priorities

·         Must have good communications skills both face to face and over the phone in a corporate and engineering environment

Periods of travel required, estimated at 10%
