Vinson is a leading distributor of industrial process control, pressure protection, control systems, and services in the southwest region of the US including North, East, West Texas, Oklahoma, Western Arkansas, and New Mexico. 
This opening is for the role of a Final Control Technician who is responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality while assembling, testing, or repairing Flow Control Valves, Regulators, Pressure Relief Valves (PRV), and Electric Actuators for industries such as Power, Oil & Gas, Refining, and Chemical. This position will be primarily responsible for the assembly and testing of new products, but could include inspection/repairs when required.
As needed, this position could rotate between two Vinson locations, approximately 5 miles between sites.  On an as needed basis this position will require working overtime, weekends, and field work where the customer would interact with Vinson’s customer base.
  • Adherence to all safety, quality, company rules and procedures.
  • Perform assembly and repair of valve assemblies, electric actuators (480v), and pressure relief valves.  Including, but not limited to:
    1. Assembly of new equipment
    2. Inspect/Diagnose/Repair customer equipment.
    3. Document assembly or repair actions and quality checks per procedures.
    4. Warehouse activities as required to perform job or as directed (i.e. Forklift Operation, Shipping/Receiving, Cycle Counts, Cleaning)
    5. Process orders
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Overtime, including weekends, if needed.

Education, Skills and/or Experience:

·          Positive attitude at all times and a willingness to learn

·          Good Mechanical Intuition

·          Willingness to work on, and troubleshoot, electrical equipment (up to 480v)

·          Self-motivated and able to thrive without direction from supervisor

·          Ability to thrive in high pressure situations without showing signs of frustration or getting upset

·          Good organizational skills and willingness to complete required paperwork such as repair reports, timesheets, etc.

·          Excellent Communication and People skills

·          General competency with computers and specific experience with email, MS Excel and MS Word are required

·          Any machining or welding experience is a plus

Physical and Mental:

·       

  • Must be able to walk and/or stand a minimum of 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to wear maximum level of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction which may include but is not limited to: hardhat; safety glasses; fire resistant clothing; safety-toed footwear; hearing protection; respiratory protection; etc.
  • Frequent climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping. This includes ladders or stairways.
  • Ability to travel via air and/or ground transportation as requested by company per assignment.
  • Ability to lift and or move 50 pounds.
  • Must have hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English.
  • Environmental Conditions: Must be able to work inside or outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold.
  • Frequent exposure to noise and vibration. Must be able to distinguish emergency and other alarms and respond according to prescribed procedures.
